St George Charity goes from strength to strength
The Duquesa Charitable Society of St George has had a productive few weeks with the Sabi Street Party raising over 1,000 euros and our presence at the Estepona Foreign Residents Day, where we ran the Great Britain stand helped raise the profile of the charity in Estepona and gives us a platform on which to build for next year’s event.
The charity shop goes from strength to strength thanks to all the volunteers who give their time so selflessly, and the income from this and other events has enabled St George Charity to make two donations over the last few weeks, with 1000 euros presented to Manilva’s Fibromyalgia Association and another 1000 euros to the Danii Children’s Cancer Charity.
Looking forward the St George Charity is working with La Caixa Bank’s Social Fund on a project to improve the day-to-day life of local disabled people, and are also collaborating with a local resident who will be undertaking an exciting challenge next year with the charity being one of the recipients of the funds raised, but more about that in next month’s paper.
